Additional Services I Provide For Individuals
There are instances when a family law case can benefit from a second perspective. At Cal Family Solutions I provide my insight and knowledge as a Certified Family Law Specialist* to individuals who are representing themselves, want to make sure they understand the process, or simply want some guidance on their options and possible solutions to ensure they have a comprehensive legal input on their case to best serve the needs of their clients.
Settlement Offer & Case Evaluations
If you have received a settlement offer and are uncertain as to whether or not to accept it, or want to develop a counter offer, I can provide detailed insight and guidance. I also assist with initial settlement offer development and evaluation along with general case strategy. No matter what the family law issue, I can provide experienced perspective and knowledgeable legal insight.
Consulting Counsel for Mediation
Mediation can be voluntary or court-ordered. I can explain the steps and process as well as offer a clearer picture of the potential timeline and costs. I help people represent themselves as well as offer personal guidance through the mediation process. While there is no set strategy to mediation, it can be remarkably helpful to understand the process, what solutions may be available, and options that a compromise or settlement can create that the Court could not otherwise order. Private Family law mediation can help resolve all aspects of your case or can be regarding specific issues (and is required in most cases prior to any disputed custody or parenting issue being litigated). Mediation is about working together to find a solution that works while still keeping a person’s goals in mind and best interests protected.
Getting A Second Opinion
Want to be able to control your own case and not spend a fortune on an attorney? I can review your family law documents and discuss the information, the meaning and relevance of the documents to the legal issue at hand. I can translate the “legalese” into plain English so that there is no confusion as to what the law provides as far as rights, obligations or requirements. As a licensed attorney, I can give you recommendations and guidance from my actual experience and over a decade of practice – which a legal document assistant or paralegal cannot legally provide. Filling out the forms can be complicated if you aren’t familiar with them – but doing so without any guidance could end up costing you even more in rejected paperwork, unnecessary complications with your ex, time off work, or by waiving rights that you may not even know you have!
